CBSE to Launch Free AI Bootcamps for Students and Teachers from September 2025

CBSE to Launch Free AI Bootcamps for Students and Teachers from September 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a major step to bring Artificial Intelligence (AI) into mainstream education. From September 2025, CBSE will start free AI bootcamps for students and teachers. The aim is to prepare them for the future and promote the use of technology in learning and teaching.

CBSE to Hold Free AI Bootcamps and AI Impact Festival 2025

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that it will conduct free online Artificial Intelligence (AI) bootcamps for students of Classes 9 and 10. These bootcamps will be held in four phases between September and December 2025. Schools have been asked to register their students for the programme, and participants are advised to join the sessions using a desktop or laptop so they can take part in hands-on activities. After registration, access links will be sent directly to the students’ email IDs. For any support, CBSE has also provided a dedicated email ID.

In addition to this, CBSE has planned special training programmes for teachers who will be handling AI as a subject in Classes 11 and 12, especially in schools introducing AI from the academic year 2025–26. These capacity-building programmes are being supported by IBM. The training sessions for Class 11 teachers will be conducted in September and October, while the Class 12 teacher sessions will also take place in September and October, from 3 pm to 6 pm. All the programmes are free, and invitation links will be sent to schools one week in advance. CBSE has instructed schools to nominate teachers who have not previously attended such training so that more educators can benefit.

To encourage innovation and creative use of AI in education, CBSE, in collaboration with NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission, NIELIT, the Ministry of Education, and Intel India, will host the India AI Impact Festival 2025. The theme of this festival is “AI Innovation for Social Impact.” The festival invites entries in three categories: students (Impact Creators), educators (Impact Shapers), and institutions (Impact Nurturers). There will also be a special sub-category called “AI for Accessibility” under the student category. The last date to submit entries is August 31, 2025, and shortlisted participants will get expert mentoring and guidance.

This initiative by CBSE is expected to give students and teachers across India the chance to learn practical AI skills, apply them in real-world projects, and contribute to using AI for the betterment of society.
